Although simulation can be a more affordable, safer, and reliable alternative to field testing of robots, it is not as widely used as it could be, found researchers at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science. After surveying a variety of robotics developers, the scientists identified 10 challenges and areas for improvement in simulators.
