Google Quantum Lead Predicts Commercial Quantum Within 5 Years

Google expects to bring commercial quantum computing applications to market within five years, according to Hartmut Neven, Google VP of Engineering and longtime leader of its quantum research efforts. Speaking to Reuters on Wednesday, Neven’s projection contrasts with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s recent estimate that practical quantum computing is still two decades away.
