The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently released the first major component of its Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). The IPCC’s first assessment report since 2014, AR6 paints a bleak picture of both the present and the future, illustrating “widespread, rapid and intensifying” climate changes and all but guaranteeing that the world will cross the +1.5°C threshold in the coming years.
